CHILD & YOUTH DROP-IN CENTRE
A Safe Space for At-Risk Children and Teens
In many South African communities, children and teens face daily challenges—poverty, neglect, abuse, and the absence of stable family support. Our Drop-In Centre is a lifeline for these young people—a safe, welcoming space where they can simply be kids, receive support, receive a nutritious snack, and begin to rebuild their sense of hope and purpose.
What We Offer:
A Safe Space: Our weekend drop-in program offers a supportive environment where teens can gather, build relationships, and engage in meaningful activities.
Community Building: From local park clean-ups to starting a community garden and chicken coop (photos below), our aim to to support the youth in building a community and a future they can take pride in.
Nutritious Snacks: For some, the healthy snacks they receive at the centre may be the only food they have that day. Your donations ensure we have a wide-variety of nutritious snacks like homegrown fruits and eggs, yogurt and fresh-baked muffins and bread.
Creative & Recreational Activities: Arts and crafts, music, sports, and outside play are essential tools for healing and growth. We incorporate all of these aspects into our drop-in centre time.
Trauma-informed Coaching & Mentorship: Research shows that children who have at least one caring adult in their life are more likely to thrive, even in the face of adversity, and have positive outcomes later in life. Our trauma-informed trained staff and volunteers offer emotional support, guidance, and positive role modeling.
More than a building, the Drop-In Centre is a bridge—connecting young people to opportunity, stability, and the care every child deserves.
With your support, we can continue to be a place of safety, growth, and transformation for South Africa’s most vulnerable youth.
