Welcome and Thank You!
We're so grateful for your interest in supporting our work. Your generosity helps us create meaningful change—and we’d love to show you exactly how.
Our programs are designed to support vulnerable children with access to quality childcare, create a safe space and mentorship programs for at-risk youth and child-led households, support families with basic necessities (food parcels, medicine, etc.) during times of crisis and offer culturally-relevant workshops to develop parenting skills through play and community. Every initiative we run is driven by impact, compassion, and community partnership.
We invite you to explore our programs, meet the people whose lives you’ve touched, and see the difference your support can make.
Together, we’re building a brighter, more equitable future—one child, one family, one community at a time.
SIYeTHEMBA (WE HAVE HOPE) CRECHE (PRE-SCHOOL)
Give a Child a Safe Place to Grow—While Their Parents Work to Build a Better Life
For many working families, the cost of full-day childcare is out of reach. As a result, too many children are left unsupervised during critical hours—missing out on safe, nurturing environments where they can learn, grow, and thrive.
The Siyathemba Creche, located in the heart of Richmond, KwaZulu Natal, provides a safe and nurturing place for 65 children daily. Children are nurtured in a safe, supportive environment where they receive age-appropriate care, engage in play-based learning, and build foundational skills through guided educational activities.
Each child is:
Transported safely by our staff driver to/from creche daily;
Receives a nutritional breakfast, hot lunch and snacks throughout the day;
Engaged in play-based learning and activities;
Enjoys ample outdoor play time in our spacious garden.
With your support, we can continue to offer subsidized spots in full-day childcare programs for children whose parents must work but cannot afford quality care. Your donation provides more than supervision—it gives children access to early learning, emotional support, healthy meals, and a community that believes in their future.
Your gift helps a parent keep their job.
Your gift keeps a child safe.
Your gift opens a door to opportunity.
Help us ensure that no child is left behind simply because their family can't afford care.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Supporting At-Risk Youth Beyond the Classroom
Our work doesn’t stop at childcare—we’re deeply committed to walking alongside vulnerable youth and families in every aspect of their journey.
Through our community outreach program, we provide critical support to at-risk teens and children who face significant barriers:
📚 After-School Library & Safe Space: A welcoming environment (with snacks!) where youth in the remote community of Pateni can study, access books and technology, and receive academic support in the hours when they're most vulnerable. We especially love attending the graduations of our successful library students!
🥫 Food Parcels: Nutritious, dignity-affirming food support and medical supplies for families in crisis—ensuring no child goes hungry.
👩🏫 School Advocacy: We attend school meetings and act as guardians for teens without parental support, helping them stay enrolled and engaged in their education.
🆔 Access to Identity Documents: We assist youth in securing ID books and other essential paperwork, opening doors to opportunity.
🎓 Future Planning: From resume/CV assistance, support with post-secondary or employment applications, we do our best to guide teens step-by-step to help them pursue stable, meaningful futures.
Your support empowers us to step in where there’s no one else—and show young people that they are seen, valued, and not alone.
Together, we can help them rewrite their stories.
““It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men/women.” ”

EARLY YEARS/YOUTH DROP-IN CENTRE
A Safe Space for At-Risk Children and Teens
In many South African communities, children and teens face daily challenges—poverty, neglect, abuse, and the absence of stable family support. Our Drop-In Centre is a lifeline for these young people—a safe, welcoming space where they can simply be kids, receive support, receive a nutritious snack, and begin to rebuild their sense of hope and purpose.
What We Offer:
🧒 A Safe Space: Our weekend drop-in program provides a secure environment where youth are protected from the dangers of the street.
📚 Community Building: From local park clean-ups to starting a community garden, our aim to to support the youth in building a community and a future they can take pride in.
🍲 Nutritious Snacks: For many, the snacks they receive at the centre may be the only food they have that day. Your donations ensure we have a wide-variety of nutritious snacks like fruit, yogurt and home-baked muffins.
🎨 Creative & Recreational Activities: Arts and crafts, music, sports, and outside play are essential tools for healing and growth. We incorporate all of these aspects into our drop-in centre time.
❤️ Trauma-informed Coaching & Mentorship: Research shows that children who have at least one caring adult in their life are more likely to thrive, even in the face of adversity, and have positive outcomes later in life. Our trauma-informed trained staff and volunteers offer emotional support, guidance, and positive role modeling.
More than a building, the Drop-In Centre is a bridge—connecting young people to opportunity, stability, and the care every child deserves.
With your support, we can continue to be a place of safety, growth, and transformation for South Africa’s most vulnerable youth.
