Volunteering in South Africa


In South Africa we have many needs:

• medical care
• driving people to doctors appointments, etc.
• assisting in the new AIDS hospice
• providing lovre and care in the AIDS hospice
• community outreach to families of AIDS patients

Expected Costs for Serving in South Africa

A non-refundable application fee of $100 is due at time of application.

Flight costs fluctuate, but usually range from $1800 to $3000, including taxes, etc.

Accomodations: volunteers stay at the Ebukhsini Guest House at a cost of $200/week or $35/day for partial weeks.

Transportation: a flat fee of $200 for transportation to and from the airport and the various volunteer projects.

Food: self-catered for approximately $200 per month. An optional continental breakfast is available at the Guest House upon request, for $35 per week per person.

Team Trips

We will be offering team trips for individuals and/or groups. There will be 2 each summer, 1 in the fall/winter and 1 in the spring. Dates to be decided each year.

Total cost for a month long serve team trip is appproximately $1400 plus flight per person. This includes 4 sightseeing outings with transportation for the team.(Please note that the cost of the outings are $200 and tax receipts cannot be issued for this amount.)

If you would like help in planning a team trip (8 - 12 people) for your youth group, church group, colleagues, etc., we would be happy to assist you. If you have a team of this size, we can customize dates for you as long as they do not interfere with our pre-planned trips.
