Volunteering in Haiti
In Haiti we are looking for:
• teams or individuals to assist with building projects
• community outreach
• agricultural work
• medical care
• after-school & sports programs
• teaching
• food distribution
• distribution of basic needs
• job creation
& skills training
Expected Costs for Serving in Haiti
Total Expected Cost: $2500 for 10 days.
Application fee: $100 - due at time of application, non-refundable.
Training Session: $50 - required for all volunteers - includes t-shirt, Haiti Training Manual & Travel Doctor Book.
Food: $150 for 10 days.
Lodging/Transportation: $200 for 10 days - includes transportation to and from the airport.
Flight costs: $1000, fluctuate, but are usually close to $1000, including taxes, etc.
Fundraising Inititative: $1000 - volunteers are asked to fundraise to enable the work in Haiti to continue.
Team Trips
We will be offering team trips for individuals and/or groups. We hope to have 3 to 4 trips to Haiti per year. Dates to be decided yearly and are dependant upon available funding. See side panel for upcoming trips.
Funds for these projects are very low at this time, therefore,*teams wishing to go to Haiti for a building project, are asked to fundraise $10,000, or $1000 per team member, toward the cost of building materials.*
Total cost for a 10 day short-term serve team trip is appproximately $500 per person plus flight,*as well as fundraising initiative*.
If you would like help in planning a team trip (8 - 12 people) for your youth group, church group, colleagues, etc., we would be happy to assist you. If you have a team of this size, we can customize dates for you as long as they do not interfere with our pre-planned trips.
