Personal Biographies

Christine Eisses: - President
I am a mother of three beautiful children (Grace, Hana and Joshua) and wife to Darren.  I grew up in the Barrie area attending local schools and churches throughout my life.  In 2000 I began travelling through humanitarian organizations and have since spent time in Nigeria, the Philippines, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Kenya, Haiti and Uganda. 

In response to what I witnessed overseas I felt called to establish Emmanuel’s Wish Foundation. We believe that every child has the right to be loved, nourished and safe, and we are committed to helping raise the next generation of world and community leaders.

I am a passionate advocate for children’s human rights in third world countries, as well as our own.  I am an active member of the ‘Families with Children from South Africa’ network, as two of my children have been adopted from South Africa. 

I am motivated by my passion for underprivileged children and most importantly my love for the Lord Jesus Christ.  I am proud of Emmanuel’s Wish Foundation and feel thankful that I can be a part of the solution!


Heather Hennig: Treasurer
My name is Heather Hennig.  I am blessed to be married to my wonderful husband Steve.  I am the very proud mom of two sweet little girls, and I work part time as a paramedic.  My love for Africa and it’s people was brought to an entirely new and personal level after we brought our oldest daughter home from South Africa.  When I first read EWF’s slogan “No child’s life should pass through this world unnoticed by humanity”, I knew this was an organization that shared my heart’s desire, and understood fully, our calling to “ look after orphans and widows in their distress” (James 1:27).  I knew I had to be involved.  I am honored to be a part of a foundation that consistently seeks God’s leading and is making a real and lasting difference in the lives of people who are so often forgotten.
